Company History
Steel Canada’s humble beginnings commenced in 1982 when the father and son team of Pyarali Jassani (Vice President) and Feroz Jassani (President & CEO) came together to realize their dream of starting a family business.
Pyarali and Feroz worked side by side for years, primarily trading in secondary steel products across Asia.
After a brief tour of the United States and Canada, Pyarali and Feroz fell in love with the city of Toronto. They ventured out to Canada in 1982 and rebrand their company to Steel Canada Limited (SCL).
Courage, imagination and vision were the key elements in SCL’s strategy for success and its sustainable growth over the years.
Opened first office in Toronto, ON, Canada
Established Headquarters in Mississauga, ON, Canada
- Revolutionized the Canadian steel industry by pioneering steel exports in container shipments.
- Established partnership with freight forwarding company, Crown Freight Forwarders (CFF)
Recognized member of Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT)
Entered custom-processing and value-added metals market
- Established partnership with Pioneer Steel Limited (PSL).
- Recognized for 10 years in good standing with MBT.
Entered scrap metal market
Established partnership with Steel Canada Resources Limited (SCRL)
Recognized for 20 years in good standing with MBT
Incorporated Steel Canada Roofing and Siding (SCRS)
Recognized for 30 years in good standing with MBT
- Established Steel Canada Modular Homes (SCMH).
- Received International Trade Business Of The Year award.
